About Us

In 1998, I decided to enroll on a short Counselling skills course in Lancaster, for curiosity, as well as for personal development. Immediately, I felt at ease within the therapeutic environment, and therefore followed a new directional path discovering more about Counselling, gaining insight into people’s needs and considering how I might support within the Counselling field. I attended further courses, and eventually enrolled on a degree course at Edge Hill University, graduating in July 2015.  During my training, I was able to offer Counselling, volunteering for an organization in Lancaster city center.

I thoroughly adopted the person-centered approach and lifestyle, and I am grateful to be able to practice as a person-centered Counsellor, supporting the client throughout the process of Counselling, enabling them not only to be heard, but often helping the client learn to listen to self. The process is open ended, and as the client sets the pace within the session, they can benefit from the open relationship they build, on trust, respect and empathy.

Anyone can experience problems at any time of their lives, which can affect their ability to move forward, and their daily life. Often people find the situations they are in unmanageable and problems can disallow personal progression. Entering Counselling, willing to experience support, can help a client to gain insight and understanding of their problem, gaining clarity which allows the client to prioritize their problem and to move forward.

The core conditions, empathy, unconditional positive regard and congruence are offered to the client within the session, enabling the client to feel at ease, whilst developing and maintaining a safe, yet unique environment in which the Counselling relationship develops. Counselling can contribute to the holistic well-being of each one of us, allowing the client to aim to become fully functioning, despite having problems, or having experienced unmanageable events.
